I disagree with the extra costs. What should I do?

You can object to the additional charges. Your objection must be received by us within 6 weeks from the date of the warrant. You can only object to the additional charges for the warrant. You cannot object to the warrant itself.

Please note: even if you object, you must pay the warrant within 2 days. We will refund you the money if your objection is justified.

Filing an objection online

You can object to the additional charges here (You are leaving this website). Choose ‘I have received a reminder or warrant’.

Filing an objection by post 

You can also object to the additional charges by post. Write a letter and include the following:

  • your name
  • your address
  • the water authority tax assessment reference number
  • the fact that you object to the additional charges of the warrant
  • the reason why you disagree with the additional charges
  • the date on which you send the letter
  • your signature
